This service is offered by Centre Médical Mieux-Être.
Neonatal circumcision is typically performed early in your child's life, specifically within the first two weeks after birth. If you have decided that your child should be circumcised, we understand your desire to have the procedure done in a medical, and caring environment.
This is where CMME comes in to serve you.
Neonatal circumcision is a common surgical procedure performed on newborns, involving the removal of the foreskin, which covers the tip of the penis. Parents may choose to have their child circumcised for various reasons, including religious or cultural beliefs, hygiene considerations, and potential health benefits such as a reduced risk of urinary tract infections and certain sexually transmitted infections.
The decision to circumcise a newborn is a personal one that should be made in consultation with healthcare professionals and based on family values. The procedure is typically carried out under local anesthesia to minimize discomfort for the baby. It is relatively quick, and appropriate post-operative care is provided to ensure a fast and complication-free recovery.
However, it’s important to note that neonatal circumcision is still a surgical procedure and, like any surgery, it carries some risks, although severe complications are rare. At Circoncision Mieux-Être, we offer two techniques: the Plastibell method, performed by a general practitioner, and the Gomco method, performed by a specialist doctor.
This service is currently available for babies aged 0 to 3 months*. To be eligible for neonatal circumcision, the child must be between 10 days and 3 months old and must not weigh more than 6 kg**.
Please fill out the form on the Circoncision Mieux-Être website to request an appointment, and a member of our team will contact you to schedule it.
*The service is available for children between 10 days and 3 months. Please note that parental consent is required to perform this procedure.
**A deposit of $75 is required, which will not be refunded if the patient changes or postpones their appointment more than once.
