Audiology screenings for hearing loss for newborns are quick, painless and safe for the child.
Hearing screening is quick, painless and safe for the child. It is usually done when the child is calm or asleep. At the end of the hearing screening, parents get the results directly.
Why is it so important to screen newborns for hearing loss?
Several recent studies demonstrate the importance of early identification of hearing loss in a child. Those diagnosed after the age of 6 months are more likely to have developmental delays.
